For the last 8 years I worked at Topps in their digital divison. I began as a collectible designer and helped launch their Star Wars Card Trader app, and eventually ended up as senior art director.

With the success of the Star Wars app, the divison expanded and I began a digital journey helping the divisions growth and success. As the design lead I not only managed the design staff, but I was also involved in strategic growth for the divison and helping craft the innovations of the user experience.

My passion is problem solving, and delivering professional, powerful and meaningful experiences through design and art.

It’s hard to sum up 8 years, but the best place too start is with the Topps apps. I had a major focus on the Star Wars and Disney apps in particular, but my time there saw me work on each app in one way or another.

I would encourage you to download them and see just how great that are!

Some of the brands I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years.

Video Sketch Cards

I developed collectibles that would play original sketches as time lapse videos.

Programatic VFX

I was part of the team that developed a customizable, programatic visual effects. These could be applied to any collectible card, any one of our apps. We looked to mirror existing effects collectors loved, while also inventing a digital only particle system that could overlay images we wanted to spawn on the card. In Stich’s case, ice cream cones and flowers!

Godzilla NFTS

I was creative lead on an Godzilla NFT product line for Toho. We created “Toppsicles”. These were 3D objects that were skinned with my original illustrations to look like the monsters in the movie series. While NFTS might be dead(ish)…I think these continue to be some the most coolest things we developed for that space.

Star Wars Card Trader original Illustrations and Designs

This is a microscopic selection of the work done on SWCT. It was ( and continues to be ) a never ending store front, where constant innovation with new designs are rolled out on a 24/7 365 basis. I must have designed thousands of unique card sets over the years. Thinking back, it’s crazy what we developed as a team.

We essential created NFTs before NFTs. The difference was that apps are a closed ecosystem, and blockchain didn’t exist yet. We knew it was real, when we started seeing articles by bewildered tech writers about “ digital Star Wars cards selling for $250.00 on Ebay.

Disney Collect! Designs and Animations

Another microscopic selection of design work done for Disney Collect! I designed have hundreds more unique card sets. The app started incorporating micro animations to some higher end sets.

I’m available for consulting work or as a direct hire.
